Voting Closed and We Have Winners!

Wow, what a great re-opening challenge!  I want to thank everyone who stopped by and voted. I know each month it is difficult to pick just one but that is part of the challenge too! :-)

When I am counting votes it is often very close and I never know who is the clear winner until the very last vote is counted. Don't forget, we get private votes delivered to the inbox too, so even if you all are out there counting up the comments, it's not the final tally. :)

And this month we actually had TWO TIES!. So for first place we have two winners! Cheryl Nordblom and Marsha Mees! Congratulations ladies you are both going to get a free $20.00 shopping spree at Shabby Cottage Studio! I will be contacting you by email. 

For our runners up, who will each receive a digital collage sheet of their choice, we have three winners! Leslie Sowden and our other tie was Julia and Char! I will also be in touch with you ladies.

Mind Wide Open is Ready for Voting!

After a two year hiatus Mide Wide Open is once again voting ready for our re-opening challenge!

So that I don't have to post the voting rules each month I have put them at the top of our sidebar on

the right.

Please kindly read our voting rules.

If an entry has a link their name is bolded beneath their photo. Please vist our entrants blogs and find out more about them and their creations. If you have sent me an entry make sure you post it on your blog so you can talk about your entry! Be proud, it's allowed.:) If you have a link and forgot to send it to me, don't panic, just go ahead and send it on, and I'll get you linked.

If I have made any mistakes... forgotten a link, mispelled a name... please shoot me an email. I move a lot of files around during the challenge to get the voting ready so it is very easy for me to make an error.

It's Official ~ Mind Wide Open is...well...Open!

Here we are once again my friends! A warm welcome to new and familiar faces. Are you ready for a challenge and some creativity?
Our challenge is open to all, no matter what level of creativity you are at, and it is open to any and all mediums.

Our rules for entering the challenge contest are listed at the very top of this blog. Please be so kind as to read them.

I have had a lot of time to think about what I might do different but I am a very simple kind of woman and I like to keep things around me also as simple as possible. Including this contest. So I haven't really changed it from the way we used to play.

You have a week with which to create whatever you like for our contest. The basic rule is you must use the image I provide.  Most times it will be an actual image, but sometimes it may simply be a background. And once in a while I just might stir the pot up and surprise you. ;-)

I also might give you a word or saying prompt along with whatever image I provide. It is just a little help for anyone who might be feeling stuck and whether you use it or not is strictly up to you. 

Your jpeg image is due to me shabby{at}lgschmidt.net by the end of Aug. 7, 2012. I will then get all  images and links listed and announce when voting is open.

So let's get the game started! There is no word prompt for this image. It is sized at 300dpi and approx. 6" x 7" and should print very well for you. To grab the image right click on it, then click Save Picture As. You are welcome to re-size it to fit your needs, or alter it in any manner as long as it is some way recognizeable as the image I provided.

Please have fun with this, do not stress yourself over it, and don't hesitate to think outside the box!

Even though it is a contest and there is a prize it is still about having a reason to carve some "me"  time and having creative fun!
